Just Got Married.

December 21st, 2010

This past weekend a friend/a sister was getting married. She liked that work that I’ve been doing and asked if i could shoot at her wedding. This was the first time I did a proper wedding shoot. So I told myself that I wouldn’t disappoint.

She (The Bride) looked so beautiful and she was so happy. I’m glad to have captured this beautiful moment for her. I don’t want to give away alot. I want the newly weds to see all the photos first.

After shooting the wedding at Pimville Soweto, I discovered that I was going to the head to Limpopo for the first time. I got really excited about it.

I had a cool time at Limpopo but the sun and the heat was nothing I’ve ever felt before. It was too hot. Limpopo is a beautiful place and it felt good being away from the Jozi lights and rush. Anyway I want to wish the newly wedded couple all the best in their marriage.

LDBK x Manzi x Soweto

December 13th, 2010

Thank you Veuch at Manzi for giving a second life to the LDBK Soweto logo designed by
Mpumelelo Macu.

In June 2010, I organized a contest on Laid Back’s Facebook page. The best pictures including the Laid Back logo would receive a copy of the Audiocentric album

Mpumi not only included the Laid Back logo in his submission, he totally reworked it with a South African twist. Needless to say that he won the competition… Since then I promised him that we would do something more with his logo.

Fast Forward…

A couple of weeks, Veuch – Brussels based artists and manager of Manzi – told me that he was willing to offer some printed canvases to the Laid Back community. Next week we will invite you to share your art with us to get a chance to win it printed on a canvas.

But first we tested the system with the LDBK Soweto logo… Dope design, great print quality and more important a very Laid Back collaboration!

Dirty Secret.

December 7th, 2010

Wow what a weekend, started it off with a dirty secret. I went to The woods for Dirty Secret. Dirty Paraffin, DJ Okapi, Wireless G and Jam Jar kept everyone entertained with so sick old school clothing for sale.

Malume Koot Kat, what a performance from Dirty Paraffin. Damn izok’SHIS iprama stof.

Met Anthony from 2BOP and bought this dope tee from him… (photo by Kamogelo Mogashoa)

Jam Jar capturing the moments. Thanks for hooking me up with your speedlight. Much Thanks.

So I got a call from my boy Wireless G, asking me… where do you wanna take your photography? how serious are you about this ish? and I was like… I’m f*cken serious about it. He invited me to one gig and then the whole weekend became one for the books. Thanks G.
