Thank you Veuch at Manzi for giving a second life to the LDBK Soweto logo designed by
Mpumelelo Macu.
In June 2010, I organized a contest on Laid Back’s Facebook page. The best pictures including the Laid Back logo would receive a copy of the Audiocentric album
Mpumi not only included the Laid Back logo in his submission, he totally reworked it with a South African twist. Needless to say that he won the competition… Since then I promised him that we would do something more with his logo.
Fast Forward…
A couple of weeks, Veuch – Brussels based artists and manager of Manzi – told me that he was willing to offer some printed canvases to the Laid Back community. Next week we will invite you to share your art with us to get a chance to win it printed on a canvas.
But first we tested the system with the LDBK Soweto logo… Dope design, great print quality and more important a very Laid Back collaboration!

Ola, I’m so excited about this. I checked out Laid Back Radio‘s fan page and bammmm! I see this. Manzi is a company from Belgium. They basically prints on canvas. I don’t want to give this away but damn I’m excited.
So this is how it goes… I am on facebook the other day and I notice that Laid back Radio (One of my favourite radio stations) had a contest. I was longing for some interest stuff to do and I thought, hey why not. So I downloaded their logo and started crafting.
Today, I’ve been having a dope day coz of the cats from Laid Back Radio. Got a DM on twitter and they were letting me know how much my logo was being appreciated in Brussels, Belgium. I got abit overwhelmed cozĀ I was also reassured that alot of cool things were about happen, all because of this work.
I would like to take a minute and thank all the guys that supported me on this contest (I know I’ve said this a number of time on Facebook and Twitter. ) and damn this was an awesome experience. To my studio83 mag fam, thanks for showing me love, George you are a legend.

I was recently asked by my friends from Brave Sole to design a poster for one of their up coming event. It is going to be a picnic kind of setup, so i decide that i’ll give the poster that type of feel.
